Renata Gröger-Kania

studied at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the University of Gdansk/Poland from 1972 to 1977. She obtained her Master's degree in Polish philology. She worked until 1989 in several Gdansk libraries, in particular in the field of public relations (organisation of literary events, lectures, exhibitions, concerts).

Since August 1992, Renata Gröger-Kania has worked in the Georg Eckert Institute's library, where she has been in charge of the selection and cataloguing of foreign textbooks, especially from Slavic-speaking countries.

The 25th anniversary of Solidarność (2005) stimulated her to examine how the topic of the Solidarność movement in Poland is dealt with in textbooks. She gave her findings to the Polish Solidarność Museum.

She offers her skills, in particular her linguistic proficiency, to the Institute's staff members and guests.
