Wendy Anne Kopisch
MA Oxon, DipTrans IoLET, originally from North London and resident in Germany since 2001, studied French and German at Wadham College, Oxford, specialising in nineteenth and twentieth century poetry with a study on Richard Wagner’s libretti. She was awarded a PhD scholarship by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and will soon complete her doctoral thesis at the University of Goettingen, Germany: Ecological Consciousness and Nature Poetry: New Challenges for a Misunderstood Genre. Her research interests focus on literary catastrophe discourse, ecocriticism and the literary relationship between ecological consciousness and globalisation; she has been a member of the Advisory Board of the European Association for the Study of Literature, Culture and Environment (EASLCE) since May 2006. Wendy Anne Kopisch has worked as an English and French teacher in adult education and has given a seminar on modern nature poetry at the University of Goettingen. She holds a translation diploma from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, London, and has worked as a research fellow and editor at the Georg Eckert Institute since January 2007.
