Sabine Lucia Müller

MA, studied modern and recent history and English Language and Literature in Tübingen, Glasgow (University of Strathclyde) and at the Humboldt University and Free University in Berlin. She worked at the Free University in Berlin from 2002 to 2010, first as a fellow in the Institute for English Language and Literature, later for the interdisciplinary research project ‘Cultures of Performativity’. From 2005 to 2008 she was also appointed by the Department of Philosophy and Human Sciences to supervise a mentoring programme, which she herself devised, in the Institute for English Language and Literature.

Following a period as a freelance editor, translator and part-time lecturer in the Department for English and American Studies at the University of Potsdam, she has worked as the Personal Assistant to the Director at the Georg Eckert Institute since July 2011.

Projects

Müller’s PhD thesis (in English Language and Literature, Free University Berlin) is entitled ‘Discursive Constructions of Female Tudor Kingship: Mary I’.

Her research focuses on historiography, constructions of memory, the theory of performativity, cultural encounters, gender studies, as well as the early modern period and the nineteenth century.
