Maya Razmadze
M. A., studied Culture and Social Science at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg. In her master’s thesis “Nationalism in Georgia” she explored the integration of ethnic minorities in Georgian society using the example of the Armenian minority. During her studies in Heidelberg she did research at the Forschungsstätte der Evangelischen Studiengemeinschaft e. V., Institute for Interdisciplinary Research Heidelberg and at the Hessian Foundation for Peace and Conflict Research (HSFK). In addition to her studies Ms. Razmadze acted as a freelance translator and interpreter (German-Georgian) and did volunteer work at the International Caucasian Institute in Tbilisi.
Projects
Ms. Maya Razmadze has worked as a doctoral candidate at the Georg Eckert Institute on the VW-Foundation sponsored project “The Institutionalization of Cultural Patterns of Interpretation: History Teachers as the Interface between Collective and Individual Memory in Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Lithuania.” Her study “The Sovjet Past between formal History and individual life Stories” will be presented as a dissertation at the Europa University Viadrina in Frankfurt an der Oder.
