Jessica Drechsler is a research fellow and deputy head of the Digital Information and Research Infrastructure (DIRI) department at the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research.
She studied for a BA in library and information management and then for a master’s in information science and management at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. During her studies she specialised in web information retrieval, usability of information services and information technology.
Jessica Drechsler has worked at the Georg Eckert Institute since 2011. Initially she assisted the library team on the DFG project: Funding for Outstanding Research. Her tasks within that project were the technical construction and content design of a digital Curricula Workstation.
As a member of the IT staff in the DIRI department, she was responsible for digital library applications and the Institute’s library systems from 2012 to 2015.
She has been deputy head of the DIRI department since November 2013 and has worked as a research fellow since November 2014 with responsibility in the department for coordinating information services.
