Engin Deniz Yorulmaz joined the Georg Eckert Institute in July 2015 as a research fellow in the Europe department where he is working towards his doctorate in the working group “Migration and Education in Germany since 1945", led by Stephanie Zloch.
He studied modern and contemporary history with sociology at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. His master’s thesis examined the subject “From nationalist to communist. The unusual ideological path of Mustafa Suphi from a nationalist-leaning intellectual to the founder of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP)”. He was supervised by Professor Anselm Doering-Manteuffel and completed his studies in summer 2014.
