Villa von Bülow

Carl-Theodor Ottmer (1800-1843), a former student of the famous architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, built this representative villa in 1839. Originally, the villa was designed as a summer residence for Heinrich Georg Christian Friedrich von Bülow, who was a high judge at the Duke of Braunschweig's court. Having withstood the test of time, this villa was restored and has housed the Georg Eckert Institute since 1981.The villa is a splendid work of architecture and one of the best examples of late classicism in Braunschweig.
