Basabi Khan Banerjee

Dr., Geographin mit Schwerpunkt in Wirtschaftsgeographie und Kartographie. Promotion 1991 an der Universität von Calcutta mit einer Dissertation über “Spatio-temporal Backwardness of Northern West Bengal (1960-1989)”.
1981-1997: Lecturer und Reader für Geographie am Calcutta University College, Mitglied des Undergraduate Board of Studies der Calcutta University.
1997-2005: Reader für Geographie und Sozialwissenschaften am National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi; Mitarbeit am National Curriculum, Lehrplänen und Schulbüchern, Lehrerfortbildung, Erarbeitung eines Kartenwerks für Sehbehinderte.
Seit 2005: Arbeiten zur Katastrophen- und Umwelterziehung in Indien sowie zum Themenbereich „Schulbuch und Konflikt“ im Kontext Südasiens.

2011/2012: Gastprofessur am Zentrum für Entwicklungsländerforschung (ZELF) der FU Berlin.
