What is the role of history education in democratization processes? Using the example of the Czech Republic, this volume examines how historical education became a projection screen for social negotiations during the post-dictatorial transformation. To this end, it examines the changes of historical images and didactic concepts in Czech textbooks and didacticized films after 1989. This raises the question what the evolution of these educational media means for the collective memory and identity of the people in the Czech Republic.
