Dr. Kaiyi Li is a research fellow in the Media|Transformation department at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media | Georg Eckert Institute. She received her Master degree at Beijing Normal University with a focus on social education media at the beginning of the 20th century in China. She did her PhD at the GEI and received her PhD in history of education with a focus on the education cooperation between the League of Nations and China during the interwar period from TU Braunschweig. Her research fields include the tranformation of educational media in China, digitalization of education in China, the transnational history of Chinese education, the history of the League of Nations.

She is currently Principal Investigator in the project The Digital Transformation of School Education in China: Policies, Governance Structures and Local Stakeholders.
