Sebastian Klaes is head of the digitisation and curation team. One of the team’s particular areas of focus is the construction of a digitisation hub and the preparation and safeguarding of the analogue and digital inventory of the research library, for international educational media researchers. 

Sebastian Klaes has worked at the Georg Eckert Institute since 2008. He completed his diploma to become a librarian in 2007 at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (FH Köln). Before starting his studies he trained as a media and information services technician.

Since 2021 he has also been working for a master’s degree in digital data management (DDM) on a programme offered jointly by the Institute for library and information sciences at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (HU Berlin) and the faculty of information sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP).
