Any use of AI tools during the research and writing process must be disclosed. This involves clearly naming all content produced or edited with the assistance of AI tools. Information on the software used shall be provided, including its proprietor and version, as shall the complete documentation of the prompts used and the dates on which they were used, as well as details of any prompt engineering tools employed. Responsibility for disclosing this information lies with the author. During the publication submission process, a questionnaire will be provided for guidance.
The use of AI tools during the research design stage shall be documented in the methodology section. Details of AI use for other purposes including research, brainstorming, text generation or translation shall be documented in a separate statement, supplement or acknowledgement; the form and placement of this information will be agreed with the respective editor.
The use of AI applications to generate or manipulate real images is not permitted. AI-generated content may not be presented as original research.
Authors are also required to select and implement any AI systems in such a way as to allow the results generated to be verified as thoroughly and in as much detail as possible by themselves and by others.
In the case of joint authorship it is necessary to clarify from the beginning the scope and type of AI systems that will be used and to document their use accordingly. The responsibility for the text lies jointly with all authors. Any variation from these basic principles shall be explicitly referenced in the publication.
