GEI to take part in Lower Saxony Day
The GEI will join the ForschungRegion Braunschweig e. V. to take part on the Lower Saxony Day in Braunschweig from 12-13 June 2026.
From 12 to 14 June Braunschweig will host a weekend of events for Tag der Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony Day), which is a chance to showcase the diversity of the state and particularly those who volunteer in their communities. The weekend events combine tradition and future and encourage old and young to come together and discuss the future of the state. The GEI will be taking part on Friday (4 to 8pm) and on Saturday (10am to 8pm) with an exciting programme of activities. We will be in the tent of the ForschungRegion Braunschweig e.V on the Braunschweig Mile on Burgplatz.
Textbooks are boring? Think again!
On our stand we will demonstrate how exciting educational media can be, how we believe they shape the world, how they explain knowledge and why we research them!

The VR memory palace is part of the ImmerTec project (Digital learning support through immersive technologies for people with ADHD) within the Leibniz ScienceCampus Post-digital Participation, Braunschweig, which researches learning support systems for people with ADHD.
3-8pm
Join in with the Companion App
In contrast to normal navigation services, the Companion App is considerably more accessible and can also be used for communication. You can try out the Companion App to navigate to several points of interest close to Burgplatz and learn intriguing facts about them. The App has been developed as part of the Cultural Participation in the Museum project within the Leibniz ScienceCampus Post-digital Participation, Braunschweig.
3-5pm
Symphony of the Spheres App
Enter your name and see how something completely new emerges between you, the different worlds and the app. You will hear sounds, see changing colours – sound and colour following the same physical frequencies. Choose a different era and the same world will sound completely different. Not because the world has changed, but because something new has been created through the interaction, which did not previously exist in you, in the system nor in-between. You are now engaging in non-linear thinking, which has always been part of cultural history. symphony-of-the-spheres.lovable.app

Poster Presentation
‘Braunschweig is bigger than Hanover’
It certainly was to the Ottomans – as seen on this page of the Translation of the New Atlas (printed in Istanbul in 1803 and based on William Faden’s plates for his General Atlas), depicting the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg (in what is now Lower Saxony) – it might take our friends from Hanover a little longer to find their own city.
“Braunschweig Hannover’den daha büyük!”
En azından 1803 yılında İstanbul’da basılan ve William Faden’in “Genel Atlas”ı için hazırladığı çizimlere dayanan “Yeni Atlas Tercümesi”nin bu sayfasında (günümüz Aşağı Saksonya topraklarında) Brunswick-Lüneburg Elektörlüğü´nün gösterildiği haliyle – Hannoverli dostlarımızın kendi şehirlerini bulmaları biraz daha uzun sürebilir.
"براونشفايغ أكبر من هانوفر"
قد يحتاج أصدقاؤنا من هانوفر إلى وقتٍ أطول قليلًا للعثور على مدينتهم في هذه الصفحة من "الأطلس الجديد" المطبوع في إسطنبول عام 1803 اعتمادًا على اللوحات التي أعدها وليام فادن لأطلسه العام، والتي تظهر إمارة براونشفايغ-لونيبورغ (الواقعة في منطقة سكسونيا السفلى الحالية).
