Key characters in the history of knowledge. Production, circulation and transformation of African knowledge since 1945.

How was existing knowledge of Africa challenged during the cold war and the course of decolonization and who were the parties responsible for composing ‘new’ knowledge about Africa, for reevaluating the available knowledge or updating elements of colonial knowledge and what form did this revision take? These questions will be the subject of a workshop to take place at the GEI on 18 and 19 June.
