Denise Hoins has been a PhD student in the Media | Transformation department since April 2024. She works for the Leibniz ScienceCampus – Postdigital Participation – Braunschweig and is currently working on her thesis on the subject of historical and political education and the use of AI.

Denise Hoins studied history and philosophy at the Leibniz University Hannover. Among her research interests are the analysis of German and Japanese entertainment films with historic content and their effect on the memory culture of the respective country, as well as the history of psychiatry and health in the first half of the twentieth century.

While studying she worked as a student assistant in the Institute for the Didactics of Democracy at the Leibniz University Hannover, where she worked on several projects and helped develop, among other things, teaching materials on the division of Germany for schools and historical sites.
