
Dr Anna Shkonda
Anna Shkonda joined the GEI in May 2023 as a research fellow in the project ‘Curricula Plus (LPP): Developing a method of political consultation for curricula development’. She analyses curricula for social science subjects and how they are applied in schools. Working closely with other researchers at the GEI, she develops methods that will enable knowledge gained from the Institute’s research to be implemented into future curricula.
She studied sociology, psychology and education science and was awarded her doctorate in 2011 by the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg (OvGU). In her thesis she developed a strategy for the conception of educational programmes in the field of continuing professional development. She has worked as a research fellow in numerous projects at the OvGU, the education company ‘odyssee’s end’ and the Braunschweig University of Art. These projects include the further education campus Magdeburg, university partnerships with Maputo, Double Degree education system design, a teaching degree in economics and technical education, task-oriented school curricula and a development plan for universities.
