Erasmo Purificato

Human-Centred Technologies for Educational Media

Erasmo Purificato has been a Research Fellow in the Human-Centred Technology for Educational Media department (former Digital Information and Research Infrastructure) at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media | Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) since February 2020.

Since the same period, he has also been a Research Assistant and a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) in the Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence research group.

His research focuses on beyond-accuracy perspectives for behavioural user profiling approaches, in particular by studying the human-centred fields of fairness (to provide user representations that are free of any inherited discrimination by developing debiasing methods) and explainability (to produce understandable and trustworthy outcomes).

Before joining GEI and OVGU, Erasmo worked for three years as an IT Consultant at Blue Reply in Turin, with project management and AI systems development roles. Previously, he received the Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Engineering at University of Naples and a 2nd level Master degree in Artificial Intelligence at University of Turin.
